Ope! The Minnesota BCA Unveiled An Interactive DWI Map
Ever have a pressing need to figure out what all those 'lights' were about the other night near your house? Well, you no longer need to log on to social media to ask, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has unveiled an interactive DWI map, which can be sortable by age, incident, time, and alcohol concentration.
The website, which might be experiencing some technical problems this morning as it wouldn't load, is supposed to allow users to access information about DWIs throughout the state. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's website describes the map as a tool that you can:
Use the Minnesota DWI Dashboard to obtain information about DWI incidents, crashes, injuries, and fatalities. This collection of data is a component of DWI arrests, crashes report by law enforcement through the MNCrash system and liquor establishments.
I logged on out of curiosity and there were many options for you to narrow down the data, which started September 1st and runs current.
The main thing I noticed is there were ALOT of dots. The other thing I noticed was all the dots in the metro area...jeepers.
When you go to zoom in on an area it takes a LONG time to load, but that might be some early bugs with all the data that is being shared on the map. You can see the level of detail from the screengrab below, it is pretty precise.
You can find the website here if you are interested in seeing it for yourself.
