MOCCASIN CREEK: OPEN CONVERSATIONS THROUGH SONG

A few weeks ago, I was sitting outside listening to a wide variety of music through my phone; I enjoy listening to music and artists that I've never heard before. My boyfriend Darin clicked play on a video and up popped a rappin', politically loaded video of a extra large man, Jeff McCool, otherwise known as Brahma Bull; one of the front men for the group Moccasin Creek.

LAST LETTER

To try to explain what you're hearing? My explanation; The lyrics are loaded with important messages; meaning; life is hard, we need to be good to each other; it doesn't matter what color you are; all lives matter. We work hard; we play hard; and we don't apologize for it.

SUPPORTING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

When you listen to the lyrics of his songs, you can feel the pain of some of things Jeff has been through in his life. I could feel it; and know that it relates to a lot of people. I reached out and asked him if he'd speak to me today.

INTERVIEW TODAY

I'll be talking with Jeff McCool today on WJON at 11:40 on 95.3 FM and AM 1240.
