On Friday night the new jersey's for the Minnesota Timberwolves leaked online...unintentionally or intentionally no one knows, but after seeing what they will look like I immediately grew uneasy with the new threads. I hope I'm wrong but we've seen this before...back in the early 90s.

All 'Wolves' No 'Minnesota'

If the leak is indeed the new jerseys for the Wolves, which would make sense as the jersey leak shows Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid wearing them, they look sharp, but noticeably the word 'Minnesota' isn't found, anywhere.

While this isn't cause for alarm for fans of the Timberwolves, it does trigger thoughts of the early 90s when a certain hockey team changed up the jerseys to drop North and opt to just say Stars ahead of the that team leaving for Texas.

There is a potential nod to Minnesota on the shorts, with a evergreen tree next to a 'M', but that is it.

A Nod To The Past

The overall look of the jerseys takes from the original set that had white, blue, and green as the main colors. The wordmark is a little different than the original one, as it resembles the prime-KG era wordmark, but drops Timber from the team name.
