Eagle Cam Shows Baby Eaglets Growing And Learning To Fly
We have a happy eagle family, and things are going great so far.
It's been a while since I've updated you on the activity we are seeing on the Minnesota DNR Eagle Cam, so I think now is a great time to share what's been happening.
THE MINNESOTA DNR EAGLE CAM CHICKS ARE GROWING
The Minnesota DNR EagleCam has been bringing us great footage of our eagle pair and their eaglets this year.

4 WEEKS OLD
At this point, the eaglets are approximately 4 weeks old. You can easily see them in the nest now, and they are covered in soft gray down that is now starting to thicken. As they grow, their feathers will start to darken as they come in.
NO MORE WOBBLES
The post says that their previously wobbly heads are now more stable. The chicks can balance themselves better at this point as well. They are starting to sit up more often, stretching their wings, and trying to figure out what to do with them.

FLYING PRACTICE BEGINS
As they start to flap their wings, it is a building block for them to exercise those flying muscles and helps them prepare for the strength they will need soon when they leave the nest.
Mom and Dad are having to provide more food now, as the eaglets are very hungry. The chicks are competing for food, so I'm hoping they can all fight and survive this stage.
CURIOSITY IN THE NEST
The eaglets are also wandering around the nest more, checking out their surroundings.
They aren't ready to leave the nest yet. There's plenty of time to view this happy family over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
