We've entered into some of the deadliest days on Minnesota roadways. After Memorial Day weekend in Minnesota, it seems we forget how to drive. One Minnesota motorcyclist was recently pulled over for driving more than 100 mph in Central Minnesota, which is a good reminder for us all to take a deep breath and slow down.

Just Entering The 100 Deadliest Days

According to the Minnesota State Patrol:

It doesn’t take much, just 10 mph over the speed limit, to increase the chances of a traffic crash turning fatal. Preliminary figures show that last year, speed-related crashes claimed 102 lives and seriously injured 388 people in Minnesota.

While people may think that snow and ice make roads deadlier, that's really not the case. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, "more traffic fatalities occur during the warmer months. Roads are clear, and it’s more tempting to speed and focus less on driving conditions. Slowing down is one of the simplest steps drivers can take to save lives."

One Minnesota motorcyclist is looking at a big ticket for recently going more than 100 mph in Crow Wing County.

Going More Than 100 In Crow Wing County

According to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, a Minnesota motorcyclist was in a hurry to reach their destination when they were clocked at 108 mph recently.

A traffic stop was conducted last night on State Highway 18 east of Brainerd after a motorcycle was clocked at 108 mph in a 60 mph zone.

Excessive speed dramatically reduces reaction time and increases the severity of crashes. At speeds like this, a single mistake can have life changing consequences for the rider, passengers, and other motorists.

No destination is worth risking your life or the lives of others. Please make responsible choices behind the wheel or the handlebars. Slow down and arrive safely.

Yes, the rider was issued a citation.

A ticket for going 40 or more over the posted speed limit will cost you more than $350, and your license can be suspended for up to 6 months.

Beautiful Photos From Clemens Gardens

This weekend was a great one to get out and do something fun. I wanted to destress, so I drove over to Clemens Gardens for a nice stroll through the gardens. What a beautiful place it is. There are flowers everywhere, as well as fountains and statues. These photos only capture part of what's available to see, but in case you haven't had a chance to visit, now is a great time to view them, as everything is in full bloom. Take a look at some beautiful photos and then make a plan to take your own trip. All of your senses will thank you.
