Minnesota Dads Are Working Too Hard
Minnesota is a great place to live if you are a working dad. In fact, the Land of 10,000 Lakes recently came in third in a study of the best states for hard-working fathers conducted by Wallet Hub.
In fact, Minnesota ranked #1 in the categories of Economic and Social Well Being and Health. The state also charted well for child care costs, finishing in second place. The only blemish on Minnesota's record was a 17th place finish in the category of Work/Life Balance.

Apparently working dads with radio jobs weren't surveyed as I can assure you we would rank much, much, much, much lower if we had been. Let's just say I have had the same underwear rotation going on for at least ten years... an upgrade is just not in the cards financially.
The work/life one being so low makes a lot of sense. I know a ton of dads who work two jobs to make ends meet and have a hard time spending a lot of time at home with their family. My dad worked as a tile setter when I was a kid and easily worked 70+ hour weeks to keep a roof over our heads.
Minnesota also boasts the third-highest life expectancy for working dads in the United States, trailing only second-place Hawaii (duh) and first place California (um wut?).
It makes sense: if a Minnesota winter isn't going to kill us I doubt the Grim Reaper can. We toughen up in the winter and bake ourselves into an impermeable turkey-like skin in the summers.
