Father’s Day This Weekend – Experiences Over Gifts Preferred – Apparently
Here we are - it's Father's Day this weekend. And if you are having a hard time trying to figure out what to get your dad, here are some great ideas.
A recent study has found that dads are wanting experiences and quality time with loved ones instead of actual gifts this year. This is especially true if you are in an older dad/grandpa situation. They usually have everything they need, but having some quality time with people is a great option. And if they have an activity that they love to do, add that in, and you should be golden!
IS YOUR DAD A SPORTS FAN
Might be a great opportunity to take him to either a Rox game, or a Twins game or some other sporting events, maybe involving kids/grandkids.
DOES YOUR DAD LIKE TO GET OUT AND GET SOME PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
And this is definitely true if he loves to golf. Set up a tee time at any of the area golf courses, and you can spend the better part of the day out on the course. Depending on good you are and how many holes you decide to do.
Maybe a day out on the lake soaking up rays and getting some fishing in. Fishing is one of those things where you don't have to say you weren't doing anything, you were fishing. But mostly just relaxing out on the boat. Perfect.
MAYBE YOUR DAD IS MORE OF A FOODIE
One thing that might be a lot of fun for the family is a tasting menu at a great restaurant. Even if they don't have a tasting menu, per se, maybe just go with a bunch of people, everyone order something different and just have it family style. Everyone gets to try a little bit of everyone's order. That way you aren't stuck with just one thing.
Whatever you decide to do, just pay attention to dad for a quality day. Everyone knows that this never seems as big of a deal as Mother's Day does, but it's still important.
