Last weekend was great for watching the Bassmaster Elite tournament in Tennessee. A Minnesotan ended up taking fourth place in the tournament, which helped his chances of competing in the angler of the year tournament later this summer.

From New Market To Bassmaster

Seth Feider, who is from New Market, which is located not far from Lakeville south of the Twin Cities, has been fishing in the Bassmaster series for a few years now, and has already won one Angler of the Year award, and is now chasing another. After a fourth-place finish over the weekend at the 2026 Mountain Dew Bassmaster Elite at Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, he has pushed himself into 36th place in the Bassmaster Elite standings, getting ahead of the cutline after 40th place.

Won Angler of the Year in 2021

Feider won his Angler of the Year award back in 2021, in his 7th year on the Bassmaster Elite tour. That year, he accomplished his goal by having a 42-pound 3-ounce total in day two of the  Farmers Insurance Bassmaster Elite at the St. Lawrence River. That gave him enough points to clinch the Angler of the Year, and time to celebrate the win.

Angling For Another AOY

With only 6 more competitions this year, Seth will have to have some more top-10 finishes to charge his way up the leaderboard, as he is currently 88 points out of first place.

Other Minnesotans To Watch In The Final 6 Events

Other Minnesotans who are having a good year in the Bassmaster Elite Series are Easton Fothergill, in year 2 of being on the Bassmaster Elite Series and coming from Grand Rapids, is currently in 28th place in the AOY standings, and Bob Downey, who hails from Detroit Lakes, is sitting in 32nd place, both above the current cut line of 40th.
