Governor Walz has made it official that kids will not be returning to the classrooms for the rest of the school year. I can only imagine how hard this is on families with parents trying to work from home, teach from home, and be parents as well. And with the temperatures starting to rise I'm sure everyone is eager to get out of the house.

The Long Prairie Country Club is offering a solution for the lack of structured physical education that comes along with distance learning. On Mondays and Tuesdays they are offering free golf for students.

From 4-5:30 students will be allowed to make a tee time and golf nine holes for free. Golfers must walk and have their own equipment, and students under the age of 16 must have an adult with them, the adult doesn't have to golf, but they are welcome to.

As a former member of the Long Prairie golf team, and employee of the country club, I'm super excited to see this offer being made to students. I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else and I hope it encourages kids to try their hand at this life long sport.
