November is kind of an awkward month. You're done with the Halloween decorations and you're in this limbo waiting to set up for Christmas.

I've noticed that some people I know have caught the Christmas bug a little early this year and have already set up their Christmas tree. I am starting to feel a little more Christmas cheer as well.

My mom always had a rule that we would not set up the Christmas tree in our house until the day after Thanksgiving. She said that we'd set the tree up once the radio station started to play Christmas music.

But, I always thought that it was kind of a bogas rule. If the Christmas spirit strikes you, then why not roll with it? Why do we have to wait until other people say it's OK?

I bought a tree last year and it was NOT cheap. It seems like a waste that I paid so much for something that I only get to enjoy for one month. I have a TV that cost just as much and I get to use it every day.

I can see where others are coming from--the people who think that Christmas has become a joke because some stores sell decorations in August. I get it, you want to preserve the excitement. You want to enjoy the holiday you're on before moving to the next.
