THE QUARANTINE 15

It's true. I don't know about you, but the changes in my schedule have changed the way my workflow takes place...mostly...right in the kitchen, the brightest spot in my house; where I'm only 10 feet away from my fridge, recipes, ingredients and a stove.

Yes. I love being in the kitchen, and it's been kind of interesting how easy it is to cook a meal, bake a cake, and sit down to work. Without having to commute, people actually DO have more time on their hands if they are working from home and making less trips out in public.

HOW TO STAY IN CONTROL

I've been able to maintain my weight. But losing right now hasn't been easy, simply because of the change in my schedule mentioned above. I've eaten some of my old time favorites as comfort, rather than feeding a hunger. I was happy to find that using the H.A.L.T system really works when you are someone who suffers with sugar addiction issues. Here's how it works.

H.A.L.T

Hungry:  H stands for Hungry; as in, are you really hungry? Here's the test. Ask yourself: "Would I eat an apple right now?" If the answer is YES, they you truly are hungry.  If they answer is No, I want cake, then you're having a sugar craving.

Angry: If it makes you angry when you ask yourself this question, it definitely is a sugar craving and time to do something about it. Like, instead of eating, take a walk.

Lonely: L stands for Lonely. Are you lonely, and just looking to feed your soul with something satisfying? Instead of eating right now, try calling a friend, or mentally challenging yourself to think about something else.

Tired: The last one is T for Tired. If you are not hungry, are you tired? Did you stay up too late? Did you have a restless nights sleep? If the answer is you truly are tired, and you are trying to fulfill the need by eating instead of sleeping; it's not going to work, and it's definitely not going to help your at home gaining weight environment. The greatest thing about being home right now is, IF you are tired, walk 15 fee to your bed or couch and take that nap. It's okay and your body needs rest.
