We are excited to introduce our new police patch! For the past few months several of our staff members have been meeting and refining several different design ideas. The final design, although modernized, incorporates the shape of our original police patch, and items from our current patch to help honor our past police officers and staff members who wore them for many years. You will start seeing these on our officer’s shirts in the coming months.

The announcement came with photos of the new patch, along with previous police patches that have been worn by the Sartell Police Department.

The new patch features an iron-girder bridge with grey pine trees behind the bridge outline, in front of a field of blue. The bridge in the new patch is the same bridge that is featured in the City of Sartell logo.

According to the City of Sartell website:

Sartell began as a small river town relying on lumber and a paper company for its existence. The present site of the City of Sartell was first known as “The Third Rapids”, this name was given by the French fur traders because it was the third “rapids” they would encounter as they traveled north up the Mississippi River from St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis.
