HAVE YOU EVER HAD A CHICKEN POX PARTY?

Chickenpox parties...I have never in all my years heard of such a thing. Apparently, they are making a comeback. Although I suppose we sort of had our own chicken pox party as my brother and I and my 3 cousins all stayed together at my Grandparents house when our parents were working...so I guess we did have an "Unintentional" chicken pox party.

WHY HAVE A PARTY?

The idea, obviously is to let all your kids friends parents know when they get chicken pox, so you can have as many friends over as possible, so they ALL get exposed to the virus at the same time, and don't need to get vaccinated.

They say that it's important for kids to be exposed to the virus so they can develop an immunity to it, as it can be more severe later in life.

WHAT WOULD YOU RATHER DO?

So would you rather get your kids vaccinated for chicken pox, or have a chicken pox party and avoid the vaccine altogether?

My kids were vaccinated. They still ended up getting chicken pox, but it was nothing like when I got them as a kid. Just a few spots here and there.
