Distance learning has made educators a lot more creative with how they connecting to their students.

Father Doug at Cathedral High School posted a video for students at home back in April giving them a lesson in baking:

Initially I was making this video for the "mini class" for the middle schoolers. I put more time into it than I was anticipating so I just decided to post it to all. There are definitely better instructional videos out there- I don't follow a recipe that close, but hopefully it provides.

Father Doug went all out for this video, apron and bakers hat included. He started out by making a simple bread recipe and it somehow turned into caramel rolls. Which is definitely not a bad thing. It wasn't an exact recipe he followed as he said, he just kind of guesses when it comes to baking.

This week a YouTube user got Father Doug's permission to post a remix to his original video. "Making Bread with Fr. Doug" takes the original 18-minute video and condenses it to a 3 minute "best of" featuring the funniest moments.

Thanks Father Doug at Cathedral Middle School for keeping the kids engaged in fun ways during this time of distance learning, and for the caramel roll recipe!
