Flood Watch remains in effect through through 7 PM tonight for most of Minnesota -- including Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Morrison, and Mille Lacs counties.

Rain and snow melt could lead to street flooding and ponding of water in low lying areas. Wind and snow are also possible this afternoon.

Many of the the drainage systems are full of ice and snow, so any melting or runoff from the rain could lead to ponding of water in low lying areas. Looking ahead, temperatures will fall below freezing Friday, so any standing water will become ice.

National Weather Service

From the National Weather Service this morning: Rain will briefly change over to snow this morning in western MN and this afternoon in evening across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. We'll see some strong winds today across western Minnesota as well. After today, we will hit a much needed dry stretch of weather.
