From the National Weather Service:  Thunderstorms will develop this evening and persist into Tuesday morning with more storms developing Tuesday afternoon and continuing Tuesday night. Some of the storms during these periods may be severe with large hail and damaging winds. In addition, a tornado or two cannot be ruled out early tonight across southwest MN along an approaching low pressure system. Heavy rainfall is also likely the next few days due to abnormally high water content in the atmosphere along with the potential for thunderstorms to train across the same area. Flood watches cover much of the area through Wednesday.
