FBI Raids Minnesota Child Care Centers Amid Fraud Investigation

On Tuesday morning, between 20 and 22 Minnesota child care businesses were raided by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security. The businesses were raided with search warrants in hand, as the Federal government investigates fraud. Representative Tom Emmer reacted to the news on X.

Responding to the news that the FBI and Homeland Security were raiding businesses in Minnesota, Representative Tom Emmer posted to X and included the Governor in his response.

"FBI & HSI are raiding over 20 locations in Minnesota in a massive federal fraud investigation, including the “Quality Learing Center.”REMINDER! @Tim_Walz, this happened on your watch.How do you let taxpayer dollars go to a scam education center that’s title isn’t even spelled correctly?"

The Quality [Learing] Learning Center was one of the businesses that saw agents enter. The business has been closed since January, but before that was at the center of independent fraud reporting from Nick Shirley. The center, which received $1.9 million in state funding for fiscal year 2025 despite appearing vacant, shut down earlier this year after public scrutiny and state reviews uncovered code violations.

Another Minnesota representative responded on social media, Rep. Pete Stauber.

Other Minnesota Representatives and Senators didn't post to social media about the raids as of 11am Central Tuesday.
