It's hard enough to lose a family member or anyone that's close to you.  But when you find out that they could possibly have been poisoned, that throws even more darkness on an already difficult time.

FAMILY ASKING QUESTIONS

There is a family in Minneapolis who thinks that their family member may have been poisoned.  And it's extra scary because it's a very common thing that may have poisoned him.

If, in fact, this is true, or even if it isn't, it's definitely something that you should look out for.

HOW TO DETECT THE POISON

Thallium is completely orderless, tasteless and colorless.  It has been used in some rodent poison, and also in some medicines.  That has now been restricted and banned in some areas too

But, it can be found in some common things that most people eat.

Thallium is a toxic heavy metal that can be found in certain foods, particularly leafy green vegetables like kale, cabbage, and broccoli, which are known as hyperaccumulators of this metal, according to a study published on ResearchGateOther vegetables like spinach, radish, turnip, and even some fruits can also contain thallium, especially if they are grown in contaminated soil

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

There are several symptoms that happen to people who have possibly ingested Thallium.  Symptoms of poisoning can include hair loss, neurological issues (tingling, numbness, pain), gastrointestinal problems, and cardiovascular issues.

If you think about those symptoms, that could be several other things as well.  Things like stress, neuropathy, IBS, or a host of other things.  So this is one of the reasons why it's hard to detect if you have been poisoned by Thallium or not.

PRODUCTION

Good to note that Thallium is not produced in the United States anymore.
