Country Classic Flashback Features Crystal Gayle
Each Wednesday at 8 a.m. I join Cindy and Doug for Country Classic Flashback. We take a trip down memory lane to highlight a country legend. This week we are featuring Crystal Gayle.
She is Loretta Lynn's youngest sister who bares no vocal and very little physical resemblance to Loretta. Born Brenda Gail Webb, she grew up in Wabash, Indiana after the family moved there. It was Loretta who suggested her stage name "Crystal" after the Krystal hamburger chain.
Crystal took a more pop country approach when she signed with United Artists Records. Her trademark ankle-length hair became as famous as her hit music.
Tune in Wednesday at 8 a.m. on 98.1 FM 98 Country for the Classic Country Flashback!
For more classic country hits join me Sundays beginning at 9 a.m. for the 98 Country Classic Show.
