Every year, nationally, there is a poll taken regarding what is everyone's favorite side dish at Thanksgiving.  This is also done at Halloween, and the results for that holiday said that the favorite candy in Minnesota for Halloween is Hot Tamales. Huh??  I did not agree with that, but they also never asked me.

As far as Thanksgiving side dishes go, the National poll said the most popular side dish in Minnesota was Deviled Eggs.  Now, I do love a good Deviled Egg, but that one didn't even crack the top 10 on our own little Facebook poll that was taken this morning with just people from around this area.

This morning, the question was asked.... what's your favorite Thanksgiving side dish, and why is it potatoes?  That last part might have just been my own little push at the love of mashed potatoes, but let's see what everyone else said.

This was a very informal poll.  But to the person who said rutabaga, my mother would be so pleased with that one.  She would make them every year, and basically no one liked them but her.  I think one of my brothers may have tolerated it, but I was a definite NO!

Some people did say potatoes, but mostly right here in Central Minnesota, the favorite side dish for Thanksgiving is STUFFING!!!  I do like stuffing too.  I had a hard time deciding between the potatoes and the stuffing.  I,however, am not at all a fan of stuffing that has been inside the bird.  Nope!  That stuffing tastes comepletely different, and I am not a fan.  But that's me.

What else does your famiiy make for Thanksgiving?
