The National Weather Service has issued Blizzard and Winter Storm Warnings for all of central Minnesota through tomorrow morning for heavy snow and strong winds.

Heavy snow is expected today and tonight, with an additional 10 inches expected in the St. Cloud area.

Winds will gust to 45 to 55 mph, producing areas of blowing snow over much of central and southern Minnesota. Blizzard conditions are likely, making travel nearly impossible.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact Thursday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches, possibly causing power outages.

From the National Weather service this evening: A winter storm will bring snow and wind today and tonight. The heaviest snow will fall across western Minnesota into northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.
