For over 30 years, Vicki Davis has been working to provide humane services for animals in the central Minnesota area, and recently retired as the Executive Director of Tri County Humane Society, where she spent 38 years. Vicki started her career at TCHS back in 1984, and what an amazing mark she has left on central Minnesota.

VICKI DAVIS HAS LEFT AN INCREDIBLE MARK ON CENTRAL MINNESOTA

Vicki may not have realized the difference she was making when she first started at TCHS. She was the only full-time employee when she started. She managed a staff of four part-time employees along with a group of 50 volunteers.

TCHS today has approximately 30 full-time employees and now around 200 volunteers dedicate their time to the cause of helping our furry, feathery and scaly friends find their forever homes.

WJON WEEKLY UPDATES FOR TCHS

While it may not be a major part of the work that Vicki has done with TCHS, she made it a point to join WJON during that time every week, to inform the community of animals that were up for adoption, to special events to raise money for various events, and ultimately, make central Minnesota a place where people would take on the responsibility of caring for animals and making sure that if an animal was able to be saved, that it was indeed saved.

VICKI DAVIS IS THIS WEEK'S 'CORDES AWARD' RECIPIENT

I've been with WJON since 2013, and every week on Friday mornings to this day, we speak with someone on staff from TCHS, which Vicki started so long ago.

Because of that dedication, I wanted to thank her for dedicating her time each week to providing us all with a glimpse into TCHS, the animals that have found their forever families, and providing us with educational opportunities to enlighten us on our responsibilities towards our furry counterparts.
