If you're looking at your calendar this week and thinking that you're seeing mirrored images, it's just the dates.

Starting on Wednesday, January 20th, we will have 10 straight days of palindrome dates or dates that are written out the same way forward and backward.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, there will be 22 palindrome dates in 2021, occurring in January and December. Every year has palindrome days, but this year is significant because there are only two years in a given century that have that many reversible dates, 2011 and 2021.

The January palindrome dates are:

  • 1-20-21
  • 1-21-21
  • 1-22-21
  • 1-23-21
  • 1-24-21
  • 1-25-21
  • 1-26-21
  • 1-27-21
  • 1-28-21
  • 1-29-21

The palindrome dates to look forward to in December kick off the month, being December 1st - 9th. December also has some outlier palindromes, 12-11-21 and 12-22-21.

Some cultures believe those palindrome days are lucky, and here in Minnesota, I know that they are highly sought-after days when it comes to weddings. My fiance and I had a palindrome date in mind and a couple of venues we looked at were booked super far in advance for the day. I'm not sure if they are lucky or just look good on a "save the date".

Palindrome or not, every day is what you make of it. If you put good or luck out into the world, it'll come back to you, so try to make the most of every single day.
