ST. CLOUD -- With a few rounds of snow, the ski trails in Stearns County's parks are in great shape.

Parks Director Ben Anderson says the cross country ski trails in Quarry Park are listed in excellent condition right now.

We have 4.2 miles of lit cross country ski trails. The out loop is groomed for both classic skiing and for skate skiing.  I do want to note that our floating boardwalk is under reconstruction right now, so that is completely torn out, so we do have a bit of a detour on the trail right now.

Anderson says they typically groom the trails twice a week.

Quarry Park has lighted trails with the lights on from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. nightly.

Stearns County also maintains ski trails in Kraemer Lake-Wildwood Park, Mississippi River Park, and Warner Lake Park.

Anderson says they are still looking for volunteers to join their Ski Patrol. Members ski the trails and report conditions from now through the end of February.

Anderson says winter walking, dog walking, snowshoeing, fat tire bike riding is available at five county parks: Kraemer Lake-Wildwood Park, Lake Koronis Park, Mississippi River Park, Quarry Park and Nature Preserve, and Warner Lake Park.
