
Weather Service Confirms Damage was Caused by Tornado
COLUMBUS -- The National Weather Service has confirmed storm damage in the Columbus and Forest Lake area was caused by a tornado.
Forecasters say the EF-1 twister was on the ground for nearly 9 miles early Wednesday morning. The weather service surveyed structural damage to determine it was caused by a tornado.
It says the thunderstorms started with straight line winds in Anoka and Washington counties.
