
Warning Issued: Check Your Pantry For Faulty Canned Tuna Products
NOT MY TUNA SANDWICH!
I guess I can still have my Tuna melt, but before I open that can of tuna, I'm going to be sure it's not on the recall list.
It seems like it's becoming harder and harder to find food that is safe to eat. We have seen recall after recall on anything and everything from meats to sweets. Amid the recalls, there is a voluntary recall happening right now that affects products sold in many popular shopping locations.
STORES AFFECTED
The FDA has issued a notice regarding a voluntary recall of canned tuna being sold in many popular locations, including:
- Costco
- Trader Joe's
- Harris Teeter
- Publix
- H-E-B
- Kroger
- Safeway
- Walmart
The recall is sold under the brand names Genova, Van Camp's, H-E-B, and Trader Joe's brand names. It is made by Tri-Union Seafoods.

DEFECTIVE LIDS CAUSE CONCERN
The manufacturer discovered some defective pull-tab lids. The cans could potentially leak or allow bacteria to contaminate the tuna. The bacteria in question is called 'clostridium botulinum,' which can be fatal.
No one has reported any illnesses related to this recall to date. The recall affects tuna that has been sold in 27 states. The recall affects the state of Minnesota.
