Waite Park KFC to Take Potato Wedges Off the Menu

Say it isn't so! Several KFC locations across the country have already started taking potato wedges off the menu and replacing them with french fries. When it rains, it pours my friend. According to KFC, the plan is to test out the 'Secret Recipe Fries' in certain markets before rolling it out across the country.

So far, Waite Park still has potato wedges...but, don't get used to it for too long. Soon enough they'll be gone. The 'Secret Recipe Fries' have 11 different herbs and spices that make them taste oh so delicious.

But, KFC potato wedges are the perfect side to go with a fried chicken lunch meal. Maybe it's just me, but I think they're just a tad bit classier than french fries. They're thick and filling and have more potato than breading and grease. I trick myself into thinking they're healthier.

If we're being 100 percent honest here, I've had a few close encounters with potato wedges so, maybe it's a good thing they're changing things up. I can't be the only person who has taken too big of a bite only to remember how dense they are. It can be an uncomfortable journey down to your stomach if you don't quick scramble for your beverage.

Peter Pham at FOODBEAST compared the french fries to Popeyes fries. Apparently they have a little kick to them. All in all, I'll be sad to see them go, but I'd love to get my hands on the new fries just to test them out. Why can't we have both?!

It's only a matter of time before the wedges are gone, so get yourself to KFC and give the wedges a proper farewell.
