The Minnesota Twins (42-49) have now won seven of the last eight games following a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays Thursday night at Target Field.

Minnesota starter Kyle Gibson (4-6) pitched eight innings, giving up five hits, one run, and struck out nine. Fernando Rodney came into the game in the ninth inning to record the final two outs to seal the win.

The Twins scored a run in the second inning, and two more in the third which prove to be more than they would need. Minnesota added two more in the seventh on an Eddie Rosario two run homer.
