The Minnesota Twins (67-79) dropped the opening game of their weekend series in Kansas City 6-4 to the Royals Thursday night.

The Twins took an early 2-0 lead scoring am pair of runs in the second inning, but the Royals would counter with a run in the fifth, four more in the sixth, and another in the eighth to seal the win.

The Twins would go on to add two more runs in the eighth inning to no avail.

Gabriel Moya started the game on the mound for Minnesota, pitching two scoreless innings, followed by Gonsalves, Busenitz, Magill, Vasquez, Curtiss, and Drake.
