St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is hosting their 7th Annual SFX Rocks fundraiser this weekend. The event features music, dancing, food, raffle and silent auction. The featured band this year is the Gregory James Band. All of the money earned will be used to support technology initiatives and school-wide programming. This is a 21 plus event so grab your friends and come out for a good time. Tickets are just $30 and the fun starts at 6:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier school.
Hear the music of two incredible singer/songwriters this weekend at Pioneer Place. Justin Ploof and the Throwbacks will be performing the songs of James Taylor and Jim Croce. Combined the two singers would chart 25 Top 10 hits and sell over 100 million albums worldwide. Tickets for the show are $28 in advance and $30 at the door. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The sounds of the piano will ring out through the Stephen B. Humphrey Theater this weekend at St. John's University. The Val Cliburn International Piano Competition brings 30 competitors from 16 nations together to play. This performance will feature gold medal winner Yekwon Sunwoo. The 28-year-old has been hailed for his powerful performances. The show is on Sunday starting at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $22, $19 for seniors and $15 for students.
Grab the family and make your way to Sartell this weekend. The Sartell Community Showcase runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday. The event features over 70 vendors in the Sartell community and plenty of kids games and prizes the whole family will enjoy. Admission is free to attend and will be house in the Sartell Community Center.
Enjoy a mix of country-folk-grassroots-Americana Friday at Bo Diddley's restaurant. Harper's Chord is back performing for the Granite City audience. The quartet is a talented group of local musicians and always draws a crowd. The band has been compared to Little Big Town, Dixie Chicks and more. Tickets for the show are $12 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
