There is a literal light at the end of the tunnel for those of us who can't wait for winter to be over. I glanced at my watch this morning and it told me that sunset tonight would be at 6:04 pm this evening (March 1st).

I really noticed the days were getting longer last week. I was in my basement sewing room around 5:30 pm and the sun was coming through the window right into my eye. I glanced at my watch and remembered having the same issue back in December, but that was around 4 pm.

You won't hear me complaining about it one bit though. I can deal with the cold and snow, but the absolute worst part of winter for me is the scarcity of daylight. I live for those long summer days where there is still just the slightest bit of daylight around 9 pm. It's like my body is a solar panel and I get recharged from being out in the sunshine.

I did a little digging online to see just how long we get to savor this precious daylight, and the next time that the sunset will be before 6 PM isn't until November 2nd when sunset will be at 5:59 PM.

In addition to that, we get to spring the clocks forward on Sunday, March 14th. That means sunset will be after 7 PM for those keeping track at home.

I'm just really excited about warmer weather and more time outside. It was a really long winter, especially with everything being closed between Thanksgiving and Christmas due to COVID-19. I'm ready for warmer weather, more daylight, green grass, and all the wonderful hope-filled things that come with the changing of seasons.
