I could probably write a novel about all the strange jobs I have worked in my life. I'm one of those people that never turns down an opportunity, and my first "official" summer job is the perfect example of that. I was going into Freshman year of high school and had 5 lawn mowing gigs already lined up, but in the local news paper I saw a floral shop was looking for someone to water flowers. That aligned with my love of lawn mowing and yard work so I figured I would give it a go!

Turns out that the flowers that needed watering were in the town cemetery. This floral shop offered a service where people could buy planters for grave plots and the floral shop would also take care of them all summer. I was the care taker. Every other day I would go through the entire cemetery watering and pruning of over 100 flower pots.

Needless to say, I got a really good tan and some awesome lean muscle from carrying 5 gallon pails of water around. But I also saw some freaky stuff. There were people that would shower with the water hook ups around the cemetery, and you could always tell when someone passed away because the bobcats would be out digging.
