With the new Elvis movie streaming, I decided to see what it was like when Elvis Presley was in Duluth, Minnesota back in the 70s.

The movie which you can find on HBO Max or Amazon Prime is about the rise to fame of the rock n' roll king himself, Elvis. I saw the movie and though Austin Butler did an outstanding job as "The King". Tom Hanks also did well as his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Check out the trailer below:

Recently, I discovered a video of Elvis's route when he played in Duluth back in the 70s. 'Elvis Back On Tour' follows a father and son as they go across the states and check out all the arena's Elvis played at from 1969 - 1977. One cool thing they do, is compare what was to what is.

Elvis performed at the Duluth Arena (DECC) on October 16th, 1976, and on April 29th, 1977.

Both times Elvis stayed at the Radisson in Duluth. When he was there, he entered at the back of the hotel in the most secure location they could find at the time. He went through an area where staff are and took a service elevator up to his suite. According to the video, Elvis told a staff member at the Radisson about how cold it was in Duluth, but also how beautiful it was.

The video stated that both shows at the Duluth Arena had over 7,000 fans in attendance. Tickets for the 1977 show were only $12.50, can we please go back to those ticket prices? One of my favorite parts of the video is when they show the route Elvis would take from his dressing room to the stage.

About 5:47 into the video, they let Elvis turn up the house lights one last time which was a really cool addition. Take a trip down memory lane, and check out the video below of 'Elvis Back on Tour' in Duluth:
