Residents in Bemidji and and Beltrami County were startled by a sudden "bright white/ blue flash over the sky", followed by a very loud, ground-shaking BOOM!
According to Space.com, those of us living in the North are in for a treat. We will get to see the Lyrid Meteor Shower, which comes annually between April 16 to the 30th. If the weather is right, it hasn't been very good lately with clouds in the air.
A Bemidji Police car's dash camera captured video of a meteor falling to earth on Wednesday night. The BPD post the video yesterday on Facebook. The Quadrantid meteor shower will be active through January 12th.
