The drought in Central Minnesota will impact duck hunters. Duck hunting season begins September 23rd in Minnesota will continue through October 1st and then again from October 7 - November 26.

There will be special state regulations in place for hunters.

Duck hunting season resumes in the central and southern zones and continues in the northern zone this Saturday. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. Glen says the cooler weather will push some ducks and geese out of Central Minnesota but more will come in from northern Minnesota and Canada.

The waterfowl hunting season starts in Minnesota Saturday and that includes ducks, coots and mergansers. In the north zone in Minnesota the hunt continues through November 22 while in the Central Zone (St. Cloud is a part of) and South Zone the hunting dates are September 24-October 2 and again from October 8 - November 27.

The Duck hunting season in the Central Zone which St. Cloud and Central Minnesota is a part of has a split duck hunting season.

The Duck hunting opener in Minnesota is Saturday September 25th.

The ongoing drought throughout Minnesota and North and South Dakota is forcing duck hunters to adjust their plans for this fall.

Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News says those planning on doing some duck hunting should do some more scouting this year.
