One of the most impressive annual events during the holiday season will be happening this Saturday at the State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. The organization "Wreaths For the Fallen" will be placing the wreaths on the headstones.
There are more reports of damage in Morrison County after a tornado ripped through the area on Wednesday night. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says they received calls of storm damage at Laurie's Lakeside Resort just after 11:00 p.m.
Every other year, Camp Ripley opens it's doors to the public for a community appreciation Open House -- and that day is this Sunday, September 20th from 10 AM to 2 PM. The event is free to attend, and features military equipment, law enforcement displays, the military museum, kids activities, food & drink, and much more.
Even when we appreciate the contributions and sacrifices that are made by the men and women in the armed forces; it's good for us to see them, and what and how they do what they do first hand -- to help put things in perspective. The opportunity presented itself yesterday at Camp Ripley.
