Today marks a new phase of Minnesota's 'Stay Safe MN' reopening effort to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus. Here's what's new:

  • Beginning today (6/10), bars and restaurants can open for indoor & outdoor dining at 50 percent capacity. Social distancing must be maintained, and no more than 250 customers are allowed at any single location.
  • Gyms, personal fitness, yoga, and martial arts studios can open at 25 percent capacity. Social distancing must be maintained, and no more than 250 customers are allowed at any single location.
  • Entertainment venues like movie theaters and bowling alleys can open at at 25 percent capacity. Social distancing must be maintained, and no more than 250 customers are allowed at any single location.
  • Places of Worship, religious services, weddings, and funerals can open at at 50 percent capacity. Social distancing must be maintained, and no more than 250 customers are allowed at any single location.
  • Salons, barbershops, and tattoo shops can open at 50 percent capacity. Social distancing needs to be maintained, appointments are a must, and employees and customers a required to wear masks.
  • Non-critical businesses, like retail stores and main street businesses, are open if they have a social distancing plan and operate at 50 percent capacity. We're all asked to social distance and wear a mask when in public.
  • Minnesotans are welcome to gather with friends and family in groups of 25 or less with safe social distancing practices in place.

These are just some of the new guidelines beginning today. You can see the full list from the State of Minnesota HERE.

Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan’s executive order to strongly encourage Minnesotans at greatest risk of serious illness to continue staying home while providing them with additional protections.

Staying home is still the safest place to be. This is not the time to get crazy, but instead a time to be smart about where you go, what you do, and how you do it. We're all in this together.
