‘Stay Safe MN’ Enters a New Phase Beginning Today
Today marks a new phase of Minnesota's 'Stay Safe MN' effort to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus. Here's what's new:
- Beginning today (6/1), bars and restaurants can open for outdoor dining. Social distancing must be maintained, and no more than 50 customers are allowed and any single location.
- Beginning today, salons, barbershops, and tattoo shops can open at 25 percent capacity. Social distancing needs to be maintained, appointments are a must, and employees and customers a required to wear masks.
- Non-critical businesses, like retail stores and main street businesses, are open if they have a social distancing plan and operate at 50 percent capacity. We're all asked to social distance and wear a mask when in public.
- Minnesotans are welcome to gather with friends and family in groups of 10 or less with safe social distancing practices in place.
Governor Walz added:
The stay-at-home order is expiring and the dials are turning, but that doesn’t mean we are carefree and can return to the way things were. It means we have to stay safe, take care, care for our own health and care for our neighbor.
Staying home is still the safest place to be. This is not the time to get crazy, but instead a time to be smart about where you go, what you do, and how you do it. We're all in this together.
