ST. JOSEPH -- The St. Joseph Park and Recreation Department has a number of new events planned for this spring.

Park Director Rhonda Juell says she tried to plan one new event each month for the department that was just created by the city back in August.

She says for April she's got a weekly scavenger hunt in Klinefelter Park.

I'll hide a wooden object that has a sign of spring and as you're walking around the path you can try to find it and take a selfie with it.  Each Monday in April I will put a different sign up so you can find all four.

Juell says you can send the four selfies to her and be eligible to win some prizes.

Later this month she is organizing a park clean-up at Klinefelter Park followed by a chalk walk. That event is scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd.

Also this spring they are teaming up with the Women of Today on a bike event where they are giving away 100 helmets and six bikes.

On May 14th and 21st for Minnesota Twin Al Newman is hosting a baseball camp in St. Joseph.

She says you can stay up-to-date on Park & Rec events either on the city's website under the 'events' tab or on its Facebook page.

Her office is located in the city government center.
