St. Joseph Brewery Hosting Dog Costume Contest This Weekend
If you love dressing up your pet, boy is this the event for you. Milk and Honey Ciders in St. Joseph is hosting a dog costume contest this weekend to get into the Halloween spirit.
Calling all pet lovers! Bring out your furry friends for a good old fashioned costume party. Local celebrity judges will be on hand to evaluate contestants on the following criteria: costume design, creativity, humor, originality, behavior & charisma.
The dressing up isn't just for the dogs either. There are prizes for three different categories:
- Most Creative Costume
- Funniest Costume
- Best Owner/Handler Combination
So you're telling me I can reuse my Princess Peach / Toad costume from last year and enter with my dog Norman?! Count me in! I didn't spend all of last October hand sewing him a costume for him to not wear it...

Other important things to note are
- This is an all-ages event so all costumes must be kid-friendly
- All dogs must be leashed (6ft or less)
- Please be prepared to clean up after your pet if necessary
- There is no fee to enter, but donations to local shelters/rescues are encouraged. (They will be on site for the contest. How cool!)
- To register email taproom@milkandhoneyciders.com and include the following information: Handler's name, pet(s) name, breed, and age.
There will also be food on site for humans from Auntie M's Gluten Free if you need a bite to eat.
All updates for the event will be posted to the Facebook event page.
