St. G’s Bodega Opens This Week In St Cloud Ahead Of Festi-Fall
If you’ve ever wished you could run into a neighborhood store for a few groceries without having to walk through an entire supermarket, St. Cloud’s East End has something new for you.
St. G’s Bodega is opening this week, just in time for the third annual Festi-Fall!
EXCITING THINGS COMING TO ST. CLOUD'S EAST END...AGAIN!
Something exciting is happening again on the East End of St. Cloud, and this time it comes with sandwiches, snacks, groceries, and a little bit of neighborhood convenience.

OPENING THIS WEEK
St. G’s Bodega is opening its doors Wednesday, September 16th, at 11 a.m. at 415 E. St. Germain Street, right next door to The Kitchenette and Sage & Salvage. The timing couldn't be better, because the third annual Festi-Fall is also happening on the East End this week.
WHAT IS A 'BODEGA?'
Now, if you are like me, you might hear the word “bodega” and wonder exactly what that means.
A 'bodega' is essentially a small neighborhood grocery or convenience store. The word is especially common in places like New York City and in Latino communities, where bodegas have long been a part of everyday neighborhood life.
Bodegas are the kind of place where you can run in for a few things without walking through a giant grocery store just to get bread, milk, or whatever else you forgot.
MAKING LIFE SIMPLER
St. G's Bodega is being created to serve the neighborhood and make those quick trips a whole lot easier. Instead of getting in the car and heading to a large-format grocery store for just a couple of essentials, you can stop at St. G’s and grab what you need. This is the kind of store I've been missing for years. I'm close enough that I can stop by and check it out!
The store will carry essential groceries, personal care items, household products, and tobacco products.

STOP BY AND STAY AWHILE
St. G’s Bodega will also have tables near the front window where customers can sit down for a sandwich and a drink.
I love the idea of that because it gives the place a little more of a neighborhood feel. It sounds like somewhere you can stop in, grab a bite, take a few minutes, and actually enjoy the space and maybe even meet a few of your neighbors.
THE WASEKA WOMEN MAKE IT HAPPEN AGAIN
The business is owned by the Waseka women, Marla, Madison, and Shaelynn. I've stayed in touch with them over the past few years, and they are clear on their goals: to create a welcoming neighborhood environment that is convenient for the people who live and work nearby, while also giving visitors another reason to spend some time on the East End.
WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME ST. G'S?
“St. G” refers to Saint Germain, who the owners describe as a very diverse and interesting character. It is a name that seems to fit the personality they want for the business, too.
The opening is another addition to an East End of St. Cloud that has continued to see small businesses and community activity bring more people to the area. With Festi-Fall taking place this week, there should be plenty of people checking out what is happening around the neighborhood, and now they will have a new place to discover.
St. G’s Bodega officially opens Wednesday, September 16th, at 11 a.m. at 415 E. St. Germain Street in St. Cloud.
