I feel honored that I was invited to try some of the amazing offerings at the brand new 'Kitchenette Restaurant' that is opening in St.Cloud very soon! With just a couple more inspections, we will definitely let you know when the doors are going to open. This is a restaurant unlike anything else, with an exceptional menu that you are going to love!

I brought my friend Vicki Davis, former Executive Director of Tri-County Humane Society, along with me to the soft opening of The Kitchenette. Both of us were taking notes on everything, from the atmosphere to the service, the food offerings, and the tastes.

First, let me say that the menu, created by Chef Brandon, was full of unique items, as well as staples that everyone can appreciate. Today, I want to talk about some of the most unique foods I've ever tasted.

BREAKFAST SALAD?

First, we were treated to a breakfast salad that comes with most everything you order off the menu. The flavorful dressing was citrusy and fresh, and I hope they consider selling the dressing to the public. The salad was light and crisp, and topped with pickled onions and slivered carrots; it was just the right amount to go along with the food we ordered.

DIXIE LUCY

I'm sure you've heard of a 'Juicy Lucy.' How about trying the Kitchenette's breakfast version called the 'Dixie Lucy.'  The Dixie Lucy was a tasty sausage filled with a creamy white cheese, served on a freshly made biscuit with an egg on top. The biscuit was light and moist. The sausage had a touch of sweet onions a top that blended everything.

SALMON BENEDICT

Vicki tried the Salmon Benedict! I have never heard of such a thing. It was a beet citrus-cured salmon, served with a delicious poached egg cooked the way you like it, served on an English muffin, then covered in hollandaise sauce. When you put it all together, it was like art in your mouth. This will be what I get the next time.

Of course, I was there to try a little bit of everything, but one person can only eat so much. I asked the table next to me if I could share with you their entree's.

One had an omelette and the other had the Mother Earth salad, which consisted of arugula, spinach, roasted sweet potato, braised beet, radish, pickled red onion, and more. It was beautiful on the plate, and from what I hear, delicious on the taste buds.

CINNAMON ROLLS WITH A TWIST

I almost forgot to order something sweet. I decided to try their Mocha Latte, along with a  Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll served with espresso cream cheese frosting. That was literally the icing on the cinnamon roll. The latte was served with love, with a beautiful design on top, and lasted me all day!

PRICING

Suppose you're saying, 'Wow, Kelly. Those photos are amazing, but what about the pricing?' I can tell you that a large black coffee was $2.50. A large latte Mocha was $6. The salads sandwiches, and other options ranged from $10-$18, plus they had A La Carte options for $2 to $7.

I hope that you will allow Maddie to share with you her vision of deliciousness when they open. The service and staff were also attentive, and the restaurant was bright and cheery. You can see that Maddie and her staff are excited to bring you their new vision to St. Cloud.
