3 Fun Ways to Keep Cool on a Steamy Weekend in St. Cloud
This summer has been so crazy. May was actually very nice. We had summer-like weather, and I think a lot of people; at least the people who I spoke with thought that we were going to have a great summer.
WEATHER
Then June hit. SO RAINY!!! Maybe not as bad as last year. I heard from a weather person that we only had 3 or 4 days all of last June where it didn't rain at all at some point during the day in Minnesota. That's awful.
This June was much the same. But also very chilly. Not cold, exactly, but much chillier that what you would normally expect for June.
I think the report did say that we wound up just shy of 9 inches of rain in June. Crazy. And then we thought it would get better in July. Nope! Yes, we have had a few days where it was warm and sunny. But it's been tough.
LAST WEEKEND OF JULY
Heading into the last weekend of July, it looks like we are going to have a rain free weekend. But it's humid. That is very common for this time of year. The lakes and the corn fields (corn sweat) make the air humid.
So, what can you do in the St. Cloud area to stay cool and have some summer fun?
JUMP INTO A LAKE OR QUARRY
This sounds like a great idea!! With so many lakes around the area, you are sure to find one that is calling out to you. Bonus if you know someone with a boat.
The Quarry in Waite Park is also a great option. Just make sure to have people with you to keep everyone safe. Buddy system!
FIND A POOL
If you know someone, or if you have a pool in your backyard, this is a great idea too. Just float around all day... with our without an adult beverage. But if you choose the latter, make sure to work in some water too. Stay hydrated!! Very important in hot and humid weather.
GO TO THE MOVIES
The movie theatres are usually kept very cool. Might be a great time to check out some of the new summer blockbusters that have come out. Mission Impossible, F1, Jurassic Park, just to name a few.
Stay cool and have a great weekend!
