ALBANY - Albany school and police officials are investigating a threat made against the district. Superintendent Greg Johnson says some students found the threat written on a bathroom wall in the high school late in the day on Monday. It referred to something happening on Thursday of next week.

Johnson says classes have been held as normal this week. He says security will continue to be tightened next week.

We'll have significant police presence in all four of our schools next week, throughout the entire week. From 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. we'll have a full time officer in each of our buildings, and two at our secondary school.

Johnson says they'll conduct random searches of students' belongings as they enter the building. He says they also continue to communicate to parents what's happening.

Just to reassure folks that it is safe to send your children to school. And, that we are adding extra precautions in all buildings. We're fielding all kinds of questions from parents.

Johnson says they've interviewed a number of students, and they've followed-up on quite a few leads.
