Several agencies launched what’s being described as an extensive rescue effort. The search was paused due to darkness Tuesday night and is set to resume Wednesday morning.

Officials say the river's flow rate along with debris typically seen in the springtime has made search conditions dangerous. They’re asking boaters not to look for the man.

The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office plans to provide an update on the search when one is available.
