Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina Reunite for Duet at 2015 CMA Music Fest

It’s been years since rumors of a budding romance between season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina have swirled around. But it was almost as if we were back in 2011 this week, when McCreery surprised his fan club party with a special appearance from Alaina during CMA Music Fest, and we were all reminded why we were once such fans of the prospect of a “McLaina.”
The pair teamed up for a rendition of Randy Travis‘ “I Told You So.” The heartfelt performance could give any viewer goosebumps, and it was obvious once again why they won over America four short years ago.
After the show, they each showed their love for the other artist on Twitter.

The 21-year-old McCreery is spending his summer opening for Rascal Flatts on their Riot tour. Also be on the lookout for new music from the North Carolina native; he recently stopped by Taste of Country Nights and dished to Sam Alex that he “hopes to have a new single out in about a month or two.”
Alaina just recently came out of commission after vocal cord surgery, and told Taste of Country that she was finishing up a new album.
