As we enter a new phase of Stay Safe MN, a local movie theater is getting ready to welcome back guests.

Main Street Theater in Sauk Centre has been closed for the past few months like a lot of businesses across the state. In that time they got creative and have been operating their snack counter in a walk-up and curbside fashion. People have been able to get their movie theater popcorn and snack fix, and starting this week people can enjoy them while catching a movie on the big screen.

We are so excited to announce starting Friday, June 12th we will be opening our doors again for movies! With some movie studio restrictions, we are limited to the movies we can play at this time, but more new releases to come in the weeks ahead.

For opening night Friday, they are going to show a retro favorite and are letting Facebook followers decide what gets played. You can cast your vote for Indiana Jones: Last Crusade, Goonies, or Back to the Future. The other movie they will be playing is the new release, I Still Believe, and you can cast your vote for the other selection here.

I don't even remember the last movie my fiance and I went and saw in theaters it has been so long. We had intentions of going to see Disney's Onward, but we were busy on opening weekend, and by the time we could actually go, the theaters were closing down because of COVID-19.

I'm excited to catch a movie on a big screen again. A tub of popcorn and a box of Junior Mints are in my future and I can't wait!
