Minnesota has a thing for snowstorms around major holidays. The Halloween Blizzard of 1991 will be brought up time and time again, but I think we are far enough detached from 2018 now to reminisce on the Easter snowstorm that happened that year.

I remember that spring being one that was extra snow-filled. At one point in April 2018 we went through a "thunder blizzard". As soon as it felt like warmer weather and green grass were here, it was once again covered in a blanket of white.

I had a Facebook memory pop up this week of the Easter snow we got in 2018, where my mom made a snow chicken for the holiday. She took all the snow from her back porch, and instead of shoveling it, sculpted it into a chicken. It came complete with plastic wings, a beak, colored eyes, and she even had it laying colorful eggs.

Luckily Easter weekend 2021 is looking a lot better weather-wise. Good Friday has a high of 59 with sunny skies, Saturday will bring more sun and a high of 68, and Easter Sunday will be sunny with a high of 71. Nothing to complain about at all. The roads will be good for traveling if that's on your to-do list, the yard shouldn't be too muddy for egg hunts, and the temps will be warm enough to wear that cute Easter Sunday outfit you have picked out.

Happy Easter to you and yours!
