There is extra enforcement on Minnesota roadways. Speed enforcement is something that is being focused on over the first few weeks of summer across Minnesota roadways. One Minnesota motorcyclist thought he could outrun law enforcement after being caught speeding, but that didn't work out too well for him. Plus it was all caught on camera.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office shared a video of the motorcycle pursuit yesterday evening, around 6:50pm. The video, which is the end of the quest, saw a Minnesota motorcyclist flee police in North Branch and reach speeds above 90 miles an hour before finally being boxed in by Chisago County Deputies a short time later.

On May 6, 2024 Chisago County deputies along with North Branch Police Department were requested to assist Cambridge Police Department with a vehicle pursuit involving a fleeing motorcycle that was headed toward us. (Hint, this was the driver’s second mistake with the first being the decision to flee)
Once involved, deputies, NBPD and Cambridge PD were able to safely and successfully devise a plan to box in the fleeing motorcycle while heading southbound on I35, south of Stacy. The motorcycle had reached speeds of 90+ mph prior to being methodically convinced to stop. The suspect was taken into custody and turned over to Cambridge PD for a free trip to the county motel!
With warmer weather and dry roads upon us, this is a reminder that we continue to do our best to safely take dangerous drivers off the roadways, especially ones that flee, putting other innocent motorists in danger.
We may not be as cool as our K9 partners when catching someone committing crimes, but we try.

Fleeing law enforcement in Minnesota is a felony. 'The felony carries with it a term of imprisonment of up to three years and a fine of up to five thousand dollars.'
