Pumpkin spice-flavored products have been all the rage the past few years, and now Minnesota's own SPAM is apparently getting in on the action.

At least that's if we're to believe this MSN story about Dan Meyers, a reporter for The Daily Meal, a food website. He not only confirmed that Pumpkin Spice Spam is actually a thing-- he actually tried a version of the popular food that was invented right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

In this story, Meyers says he first heard about the new flavor and how it's set to hit stores shelves at Walmart and via the Spam.com website later this fall, so he requested a sample. And, he got it.

Now, I like fall as much as anybody else. A pumpkin spice candle or air freshener is always a cool reminder that fall is here in Bold North. And, I usually buy a pumpkin spice latte a couple of times too. (Okay, when I say 'pumpkin spice latte,' what I mean is that I bought of pumpkin spice-flavored creamer and generously dumped it into my coffee here at the station.) But still, I do appreciate the flavor that is pumpkin spice.

Do I like enough that I want my Spam to be pumpkin spice flavored, though? Hmmm. I'm not sure. (And, to be fair, though I love me some Spam, I can't actually tell you the last time I actually had any.)

So just what DOES Pumpkin Spice Spam taste like? Well, Meyers says it's actually pretty good. "It reminds me of breakfast sausage,' one taster said in the story, and noted that "honestly, it would go great with some eggs and waffles."

So, yeah, Pumpkin Spice Spam-- it's a thing. And if you want to try it, it'll be available for a limited time starting on September 23rd
